We at Brilyant are looking for a Senior AV Installation Engineer (CTS-I) to lead the on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced audiovisual systems.
The Senior AV Installation Engineer (CTS-I) is responsible for the flawless on-site execution, installation, and commissioning of complex audiovisual systems. This role ensures all projects are completed according to approved CTS-D designs, industry standards (AVIXA/CTS), and client specifications, eliminating technical deficiencies that lead to costly project delays..

- Preferred Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in AV integration, specifically in lead installation or field engineering roles for corporate or educational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation Leadership (CTS-I Focus):Â Lead and manage the on-site installation team, including junior technicians and subcontractors.
- System Build & Termination: Execute complex physical installations, including rack fabrication, cable termination, and mounting of projectors, displays, and speakers, ensuring adherence to the CTS-I best practices.
- Commissioning & Calibration:Â Perform final system testing, commissioning, and calibration (audio, video, control systems) to ensure optimal performance and adherence to engineering specifications.
- Quality Assurance:Â Conduct rigorous in-process and final quality checks, generating detailed punch lists and ensuring zero defect turnover.
- Documentation & Closeout:Â Complete project closeout documentation, including final cable schedules, red-line drawings, and system operation manuals.
- Troubleshooting:Â Diagnose and resolve complex field issues during installation and commissioning, providing expert-level technical support.
- Client Training: Conduct comprehensive end-user training sessions for clients on system operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Inventory Management:Â Manage on-site inventory, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

| Technical Expertise | Proficiency in reading and interpreting AV system schematics (e.g., Visio, AutoCAD). Advanced skills in terminating all types of AV, data, and fiber optic cabling. Expertise with control system hardware (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS) and configuration files. |
| Networking | Strong understanding of AV-over-IP and IT networking principles (VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping) as they relate to AV systems (e.g., Dante, NDI, HDBaseT). |
| Soft Skills | Excellent communication (verbal and written), strong leadership skills, and proven ability to train and mentor less experienced team members. |
| Physical Demands | Ability to lift and handle equipment, climb ladders/lifts, and work in typical construction site environments (OSHA certification is a plus). |
