We at Brilyant are hiring for a Senior AV Design Engineer (CTS-D) to lead the design, engineering, and documentation of complex, integrated audiovisual systems.
The Senior AV Design Engineer (CTS-D) is the primary technical expert responsible for the end-to-end design, engineering, and documentation of complex, integrated audiovisual systems. This role ensures all designs meet client functional requirements, adhere to AVIXA standards, and are fully ready for successful installation by the field team.
- Preferred Location: Bangalore
- Preferred Experience: 7+ years in AV system design and engineering for commercial integration projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Needs Assessment & System Architecture (CTS-D Core):Â Lead client discovery sessions to gather functional and technical requirements. Develop the complete AV system architecture, ensuring proper signal flow, component compatibility, and future scalability.
- Engineering Documentation:Â Produce high-quality, professional engineering packages, including detailed system schematics (CAD/Visio), elevation drawings, rack layouts, cable schedules, and system flow diagrams.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs conform to relevant AVIXA/CTS-D standards, industry best practices, and local code requirements, significantly reducing errors and change orders during the installation phase.
- Coordination with Trades:Â Act as the primary technical liaison with architects, electrical engineers, IT departments, and construction teams to coordinate infrastructure requirements (power, conduit, cooling, network connectivity, etc.).
- BOM & Procurement Support:Â Create accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and technical specifications for equipment procurement, assisting the sales team in generating accurate and competitive proposals.
- Design Review & Mentorship:Â Conduct technical reviews of designs created by junior engineers and mentor them in the principles of certified AV design.
Required Skills and Qualifications
| Certification (Required) | AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist – Design (CTS-D)Â (Current and in good standing). |
| Experience | Minimum 7+ years of dedicated experience in AV system design and engineering for commercial integration projects (e.g., control rooms, complex conference spaces, distributed AV). |
| Design Tools | Expert proficiency in AutoCAD or Visio for creating professional-grade, layered AV system drawings. Experience with Revit/BIM is highly desirable. |
| Technical Expertise | Deep, demonstrable knowledge of audio physics, video signal standards (4K, HDBaseT, Fiber, AV-over-IP), control system design theory, and enterprise-level IT networking specific to AV. |
| Process Management | Proven ability to manage multiple complex design projects simultaneously and adhere to strict engineering deadlines. |
| Communication | Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, specifically for translating complex technical concepts into clear documentation and effective client presentations. |
| Problem Solving | Analytical mindset with a track record of identifying potential design conflicts or infrastructure issues early in the project lifecycle. |
